In June 2013 I ran The Sense of the Sleight-of-Hand Man, our new Call of Cthulhu campaign set in H.P. Lovecraft’s Dreamlands, for my local gaming group in Inverness, Alabama. Here’s a look at the characters and the first few sessions of play.
The Dreamers
Novelist Owen Banks, private eye Sam Ford, travel and occult writer Richard Parker, and singer Elissa Von Dale were thrust into a fantastical world beyond anything they had imagined. Here are their game stats (updated as we go) and histories.
Rules Notes
House rules from my personal campaign and notes on the special rules included in The Sense of the Sleight-of-Hand Man.
Report 1: From a Nightmare to a Dream
The Dreamers go to their deaths only to awaken in new forms in a very strange and terrible new place.
Report 2: The Road to Inquanok
The Dreamers flee grim Sarkomand only to face horror and revelation on the road.
Report 3: The Onyx City
The Dreamers barely elude the terrifying Spiders of Leng and find safety behind the strange onyx walls of Inquanok. The sages there offer solace and help—at a price.
