This looks just like a normal one-dollar bill, except that \u201cNovus Ordo Seclorum\u201d on the Great Seal reads \u201cNovus Ordo Secularum,\u201d \u201cIN GOD WE TRUST\u201d is changed to \u201cIN DOG WE THRUST\u201d and instead of \u201cTHIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE\u201d it says \u201cASSERT DOMINION OVER ALL YOU SURVEY.\u201d\u00a0 Also, the Treasurer\u2019s signature has been replaced by that of actor Peter Cook, who played the Devil in the 1967 comedy \u201cBedazzled.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unlike so many of the tools constructed by the agents of Hell on Earth, this one\u2019s subtle.\u00a0 To switch it on, its owner just spends it and waits.\u00a0 Within ten days, it comes back to him in some pocket-change transaction or, at worst, he just finds it by happenstance.\u00a0 In the laundry, perhaps.<\/p>\n

By holding it and concentrating, he can then intuit who had it while it was away and\u2014this is the important part\u2014what that person longs for.\u00a0 The description of the longing may be vague or specific, but it gives the demon who crafted it from +1 to +3 Advantage (secret based) if he tries to leverage the insight during a <\/b>Devious<\/b> <\/b>Corruption <\/b><\/em>or<\/b> Devious<\/b> <\/b>Deceit<\/b><\/em> roll.\u00a0 The degree of Advantage is roughly half of the target\u2019s highest Sinister Tactic, rounded up.<\/b><\/p>\n

Building the Devil\u2019s Dollar (or the Devil\u2019s Dime, as it used to be known) costs 2 Knowledge.\u00a0 (Normally you\u2019d have to pay that much to get a reliable +2 Advantage to either the Devious<\/b> Corruption<\/em> or Devious<\/b> Deceit<\/em> roll, but since this is variable and limited only to topics that address the longing, it\u2019s roughly balanced.)\u00a0 It has no Flaws.<\/p>\n
