This is “Session Zero” for a new 5E campaign that brings together Shane Ivey from Arc Dream Publishing, Mark Finn from the Monty Haul zine, Chris Spivey from Darker Hue Studios, and Aser and Megan Tolentino from The Redacted Files.
Shane, the Dungeon Master, introduces the Broken Empire setting for the campaign and the Roll20 interface, and gives a quick tutorial to help unfamiliar players create characters in Fifth Edition. The players dream up their adventurers, crewmates on the trading ship Heart of Iron.
Mark works up a human Zyirran rogue with a heart of gold, or at least electrum.
Chris develops an aasimar paladin from Sindusa with a haunted past and future, though he may be a ranger before we begin.
Megan creates a scheming and ruthless dwarf from far Iskutai, a priestess of the underworld goddess Sahayaak.
Aser creates a Zyirran human fighter with a broad shield and a heavy hand.
Produced by Rachel K. Ivey.
