Many many years ago Greg Stolze gave Reign life; some time later we helped him publish Reign: Enchiridion. Now it’s on the way back thanks to Kickstarter, in a new full-color edition!
Reign is a tabletop RPG of action and authority, where the player characters can give quests instead of taking them. Instead of being a group of misfits who have to save the world, Reign assumes the PCs are leaders of a church, an army, a criminal gang or even an entire country. In Reign, you get minions to do your dirty work for you. But, of course, that also means you’re responsible for them. The price of building something you can’t just walk away from is that you can’t abandon it.
Reign uses Greg’s classic One Roll Engine; a system that uses a pool of ten sided dice and looks for matches, the same engine that powers Wild Talents.
This time around he’s enlisted the help of Hal Mangold and Atomic Overmind Press, and it looks like it’s going to be a great set of books.
