Event submissions have begun for GenCon 2015. We invite you to run games for Arc Dream Publishing! We host lots of games at GenCon — they’ve recognized us as a Premiere Event Group for years. As a volunteer GM you can get a free GM badge from GenCon and tons of free stuff from the Arc Dream booth. We are happy to reward you for putting our games in front of players. Even your players get free swag from Arc Dream!
Even better, now we’re partnering with the Envoy demo program. Sign up as an Envoy Herald and you can get even more free swag from them. They can also help you find other events to run—more opportunities to have fun running games for new players and earning rewards while you’re at it.
Here’s an overview of the process. See details below.
- Sign up with GenCon.
- Send your event details to our demo organizers at Envoy.
- At GenCon, come to our booth and get promotional stuff and “booth credit” coupons for your players.
- Run the games and give the free stuff to the players.
- Come to our booth and get your rewards!
Our events fill up very quickly, so you can count on lots of players having a great time. The more GMs we get, the better!
How to Sign Up
Here’s what you need to do.
- REGISTER WITH GENCON: Set up a free account.
- SUBMIT EVENTS—UPDATED: Please send your event data to Darren Watts at Envoy (darrenwatts@yahoo.com) so he can enter it as an official Arc Dream event and set you up as a Herald for us. Include the event title, the game system, a brief summary (a sentence or two), a longer summary (a few sentences), the date and time you want to run it, and the email address that you use for GenCon registrations. That way GenCon recognizes that your event is part of our Premiere Event Group. That’s good for us because it shows GenCon how many games we’re organizing, and it’s good for you because it puts your event in front of even more gamers. If you submit enough Arc Dream events, we’ll give you a free badge!
What to Run
We want GMs for any and all of our games and settings. They’re listed here in order of priority, highest priority first, to help put our newest work in front of people.
- Delta Green: The RPG (in playtesting and revisions now—we’ll make sure you have the final version in time)
- Puppetland (in editing and layout now—we’ll make sure you have the final version in time)
- Godlike
- Wild Talents (The Kerberos Club, Progenitor, eCollapse, Grim War, This Favored Land, or the post-Godlike “World Gone Mad” setting from the core rulebook)
- The Kerberos Club—other systems (Fate or Savage Worlds)
- Monsters and Other Childish Things
- Reign
- A Dirty World
- Nemesis
What to Do at GenCon
- BEFORE YOUR EVENT: Come to the Arc Dream Publishing booth in the exhibit hall. We’ll give you some supplies to give players at your event, such as coupons they can redeem at the booth and maps to the booth.
- AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH EVENT: Collect tickets from all players.
- AT THE END OF EACH EVENT: Give the promotional stuff to each player.
- AFTER EACH EVENT: Turn in all the tickets to GenCon’s GM HQ. Don’t bring them to us—just put the tickets from a game in the little envelope, fill out the data on the envelope, and give it to GM HQ.
- COME GET FREE STUFF: For player in your event, you get $5 in “store credit” at the booth. The store credit must be used at the Arc Dream Publishing booth at GenCon 2015. So come to our booth and tell us you ran the game, how many players participated, and how it went. We’ll jot down the details and give you a coupon for your store credit. (We’re not asking for proof or to count tickets or whatever; our GMs have always been top-notch so we trust you. If it discrepancies turn up after the show, we’ll tighten things up again next year.)
If You’re With Another Group
What if you run an Arc Dream game for another event organizer, such as Indie Games Explosion or You Too Can Cthulhu? It still counts! Just sign up with Envoy ahead of time and tell them the details. They’ll make sure you get on our list. Before your game, come to our booth to get the promotional stuff for your players. Give it to the players after the game and come to our booth for “store credit.” Free swag!
