Grim War: Spirits

Grim War is a Wild Talents setting by Greg Stolze and Kenneth Hite. In Grim War there are two sorts of superhuman powers at work: Mutants with the traditional kind of superpowers, and sorcerers who (usually) have no powers of their own but who summon strange otherworldly spirits to work powerful magic on their behalf. Most people in the world of Grim War consider mutant powers good and spirit-summoning sorcery evil, but it’s never that simple. The most interesting groups of player characters often include both sorcerers and mutants.

Grim War is available in PDF and in print with free PDF download. The PDF download (whether you get it on its own or with the print book) comes with the PDF of Wild Talents Essential Edition, the complete rules for Wild Talents. Today we look at the spirits that sorcerers summon. These are the first few pages of the Spirits chapter of Grim War, with a summary of what makes spirits tick and the first couple of sample spirits. Dozens more spirits are detailed in the book, along with plenty of characters and the major factions of sorcerers that deal with them.
